'French Connection' has a tiller, not a wheel, to give an exciting hands-on experience. You can feel the yacht respond as you take control. All the equipment is new and easy to use, making learning to sail a simple pleasure.

The Sailing Away programmes cover four levels of ability from beginners to advanced beginners, intermediate and advanced sailing. Courses cover all aspects of helmsmanship, seamanship, personal safety and navigation. At the conclusion of each course you will gain internationally recognised Royal Yachting Association (R.Y.A) and Yachting New Zealand Keelboat Sailing qualifications.

Your sailing master, owner operator, Suzanne Bourke, is one of Auckland’s most experienced sailing instructors. She has over 20 years experience as a former school teacher and has taught people of all ages and nationalities to sail over a lifetime spent sailing on the Auckland Harbour and Gulf.

Suzanne is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor and Yachting New Zealand Instructor. With Suzanne’s patience and skills you will feel completely at ease learning to sail aboard ‘French Connection’.

Location & How to Find Us:

We are located on Pier G61, Westhaven Marina, Auckland. Westhaven Marina is on the waterfront of Auckland City where the Auckland Harbour Bridge meets the land.
